Scrapheap Challenge

The new look Scrapheap Challenge, now in its 11th series, is out and about this summer as new presenter Dick Strawbridge challenges scrappers from all over the country to take him on!

From water-powered machines to mobile mortars, jousting to giant golf, blow football to caber tossing and super surf boards, Scrapheap’s challenges are as whacky as ever. Each show comes from events all over the UK where the teams race each in specially-designed challenges to win the chance to go head to head with Dick’s Diamonds.

An iconic show! We’ve been asked to work with the bristol based production team to create animated graphics as an extra device to explain the mechanics of each ‘build’.

Short Film

In between some exciting productions Green Lit Media are currently in production with a cracking short film. ‘Strap on Owl beak’ is written and Directed by one of the ‘Green Team’, Daf Palfrey. More of Daf’s genius can be seen on his own web site www.10pence.com

Green lit Managing Director, Pete Levy says, “Bristol is a real hub for the short film genre being home to the world famous ‘Encounters Short Film Festival as well as the brilliant support cluster ’Cineformation’. We were initially asked to read the script which made us all laugh out loud. This gives us the chance to work with a group of really talented crew whose combined credits range from the ‘Sopranos’, ‘Sex in the city’, ‘Bleak House’ and the ‘Hogfather’ to name just a few.” The project is now mid production so watch this space and laugh out loud with us.

MIP/MILIA

We recently attended the MIP and Milia festivals in Cannes. This was primarily to attend as many keynote speeches and conferences as possible to investigate the developments in technology driving the 360 convergences within the industry. We where lucky enough to hook up with Films@59 as well as South West Screen. During our visit we maintained a daily blog which can be accessed at: http://bristolmediamilia2008.tumblr.com/
