Keep casualty in Bristol

casualty

Green Lit Media would like to offer it’s support to the ‘Keep Casualty in Bristol’ campaign. Joining local MP’s, broadcast unions, high profile media organizations as well as the talented cast and crew of this flagship production.

The move of Casualty from Bristol to Cardiff was announced on 15 October by BBC Vision director, Jana Bennett, in a Royal Television Society speech as part of a BBC pledge to make 50 per cent of BBC network TV shows outside London by 2016. A final decision about Casualty’s future home is subject to a financial review, giving campaigners an opportunity to put their case for keeping it in Bristol.

The series has been filmed in Bristol since it aired for the first time 21 years ago and is currently under threat as the BBC are undergoing major restructuring.

Casualty has always been closely associated with Bristol and it is feared that it’s move from the City would represent a serious downgrading in television output and reduction in status of BBC South West as a premier regional broadcaster.

It is vital that the BBC in Bristol remains a centre of excellence – not just for factual programming but also in all aspects of the dramatic and performing arts. The series is important for nurturing Bristol talent, both in acting and in television production, and is also important for the local economy. The show goes to great lengths to use Bristol and the South West accents and locations and it is important the BBC reflects regional diversity. The Varied and diverse nature of our city and the surrounding geography means that as the production is based close to the city centre that locations can be found within a maximum drive of 30minutes. This means that within a radius of up to 25 miles the production is able to providing locations as diverse as city, suburbs, docks, canal, coast, cliffs, quarries, farms, forests, rivers etc, etc.

We are enormously proud of our drama heritage here in the South West and we want to continue to attract high quality productions, cast and crew to continue to make world renowned programs.

Work in Progress!

amanda

Green Lit Media have recently undertaken a project to produce live action elements for an amazing new web site (currently under wraps). It was a real quick turn around and everyone put in a sterling effort. The guys at Imagist studio where brilliant, as always. Our brilliant photographer, Amanda Thomas (Amango Photography) is seen here demonstrating the lengths she’ll go to to get that perfect shot! Although we think she may have misunderstood the ‘passport photograph’ reference. A bit of a change from photographing Rock Royalty.

The Coast 106FM

Green Lit Media thoroughly enjoyed working recently with Stuff Advertising to create a series of broadcast commercials to promote the launch of The Coast 106FM. A cracking new radio station playing some great music. Mucho gracias also to the team at Kiss My Pixel
